ADVOCACY for 2025
“And Mary said, ‘My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour . . .’” (Luke 1:46-47, NRSV).
As in other Advent seasons, people of All Saints are wrapping gifts for the Christmas Giving Tree, helping with community food projects, packing up warm clothes for asylum seekers at the border, and much more. For us, it is a time of anticipation—when we look beyond ourselves to a world in need and the possibilities of more just ways to live as God’s people on earth.
We not only “fill the hungry with good things,” in the words of Mary’s Song, but we also work to change systems so that all experiencing poverty and marginalization are “lifted up” (Luke 1: 52-53). To this end, All Saints recently hosted two state advocacy conferences: Bread for the World-NM in September and the Lutheran Advocacy Ministry Fall Conference in November. Thank you, All Saints, for making our beautiful church available for the events and for offering prayers, hospitality, and technical assistance.
Both conferences prepared us for God’s Work, Our Voices in 2025. Two events in February will move our advocacy forward in the new year.
